- Fill the barrel to 2/5 of its capacity with boiling water and salt, then shake vigorously to moisten every part of the wood
- Let it rest for two days, shaking occasionally
- Completely empty the salty water and rinse thoroughly with pure water, allowing it to drain well
- After a day of rest, season the barrel by filling it with white wine and topping it off for about ten days
- Empty the wine and let it drain completely for two days (do not rinse with water)
- The barrel is now ready to receive your spirit and begin the fascinating aging process
