Which filtration grade to choose?
Grade 0-4 microns: Perfect as the first step after fermentation. Retains the coarser particles in suspension but does not yet produce an optimal finish.
Grade 8-12-16 microns (your card): The best choice for the second filtration step. Captures smaller particles and gives the wine a visible shine and superior quality after racking.
Grade 20-24 microns: Use only as the last step to eliminate final micro-impurities and achieve maximum transparency. Always after having already filtered with 8-12-16 cards.
