- Fill the barrel up to 2/5 of its capacity with boiling water and salt, then shake well to evenly moisten all internal parts;
- Let it rest for two days, occasionally shaking the solution;
- Completely empty the saltwater and rinse with pure water, allowing it to drain well;
- After one day, proceed with the wine treatment: fill the barrel with white wine and keep it full for about ten days, topping up if necessary;
- Completely empty the wine and let it drain for two days without rinsing;
- Your barrel is now perfectly prepared and ready to receive the spirit for aging.
