Merlett Tecnoplastic is an Italian company founded in 1952 by brothers Ariberto and Giancarlo Tamborini in Daverio, in the province of Varese. Specialising in the production of flexible hoses in thermoplastic materials, particularly PVC, it grew from a small company with 6 employees into one of Europe's leading manufacturers in the sector. Its products serve the technical and industrial, agricultural, marine, construction, transport and food sectors, with over 70% of its turnover generated in foreign markets. The company operates three production sites — in Daverio, Varano Borghi and Rancate in the Canton of Ticino — along with twelve foreign subsidiaries, totalling around 510 employees. In 2019, in order to ensure global continuity and development, Merlett was acquired by German multinational Continental and now operates as part of the ContiTech division. With over 70 years of history, Merlett is synonymous with quality, innovation and flexibility in the industrial hose sector.
